Memorial Day

Memorial Day

Memorial Day, formerly known as Decoration Day, is a day remembering those in the American armed forces who gave their lives in service to our country. The holiday dates back to the end of the Civil War, originally commemorating the quarter of a million lives lost during that four-year period. It was first widely observed on May 30, 1868, by proclamation of Gen. John A. Logan of the Grand Army of the Republic, an organization of former Union sailors and soldiers. Today, Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May. This year, Memorial Day falls on May 25th. Let us help you honor your fallen loved ones by creating that special flag in their honor. Contact us now to discuss what we can do for you.
